SUCCESSFUL STORIES

CASE: GEORGE MAKRIDIS AND MICHAEL MAVRIKOS

In 1946 a young couple brought into the world their first child. Two years later the second son of their love was born. The years were difficult and the misfortunes of the family too many. The father was already a soldier and the mother was very ill. The family was convinced by a woman to give little George to the Institute of "St. Stylianos" for protection. Thee months after the birth of the child the mother could not suffer her illness any more and she died.

A few months later the father went to the orphanage in order to take his child back. In the meantime, he had an often communication with the orphanage from where he was informed for his child's health. But when he appeared there he was told that the child had died and that his body was burned into the lime. The father became furious and he attacked to the director himself Mr. Papadopoulos.

The father, Nicholas Mavrikos, never believed the story that he was told. Inconsolable, he dedicated his life to his other son. The blues for his lost child was big. In 1987 he died without having had the chance to see again his own child, which some textures people grabbed it from him. Some murderers deprived from that man the right to raise his own child.

Little George was sold and adopted at the village Makrochori of Imathia. In his papers he was an exposed child, of unknown father and his mother was a prostitute. When he was 15 years old his adoptive mother told him the truth. His Calvary had already started.

Turns of bureaucratic acts hold him away from his biological family. False birth dates, double records one true and one false and a lot of other false documents made the web of his illegal adoption.

His only solution was the help of S.E.A.S.Y.P association. An association that was made by illegally adopted children, who as adults had the courage to rear their height, to unite their powers and to resist against the fact that dealt with the black baby market.

George Makridis and Michael Mavrikos reunited their lives after 47 years. From 1995 and on they try, together now, to win their lost years which some materialists and avaricious people took good care of depriving them by violating huge human rights.
